This rare Maas-Rowe Symphonic Carillon has two 2.2-octave keyboards that respectively play a set of minor-third-tuned bells and a set of major-third-tuned bells. The carillon has a relay that allows the player to choose the key in which he will be playing, which in turn selects the combination of major-tuned or minor-tuned bells that will be played. Basic electric carillons like the Maas-Rowe Vibrachime do not allow for this, but rather have only minor-tuned or major-tuned bells. Being able to select which notes play minor bells or major bells allows for greater melodic and harmonic possibilities.
