Produced for a limited time in the late 1970's, the Yamaha CS-80 has become one of the most sought-after synths for musicians of many genres. It has been used by artists such as Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Stevie Wonder, Phoenix, Genesis, Brian Eno, Phish, Daft Punk, RJD2 and Coldplay, on Michael Jackson's Thriller, and the movie Blade Runner.

It supports true 8-voice polyphony with two independent synthesizer layers per voice (16 oscillators total) and has a velocity-sensitive and pressure-sensitive, 5-octave weighted-action keyboard with aftertouch. Each voice of its completely analog voice structure has a single VCO, high-pass and low-pass filters with resonance, and separate envelope generators for the VCF and VCA. It also has a ribbon controller which allows for polyphonic pitch-bends and glissandos.

This CS-80 was fully professionally serviced in May 2012, and is completely functional with no issues. The top half of the case was just re-tolexed, but the outside of the bottom half of the case shows signs of use. The instrument pictured is not the actual instrument for sale, but one of equivalent condition. We sold the one pictured two months ago.

Don't miss this chance to buy a Yamaha CS-80 and own what some consider to be the holy grail of synthesizers.

This is a very large keyboard - 220 lbs! - and can be shipped only via freight.
