This Mustel celesta is reconditioned, plays great, and is in museum-quality condition. It has a 4-octave range with a sweet, warm timbre throughout. Weighing only 95 pounds, it can easily be moved by two people.
Though not yet photographed, this used Mustel celeste looks the same as the Mustel shown in the pictures, which is a previous one that we sold. Finding a Mustel celesta that is near mint condition for sale is exceedingly rare. Don't miss this opportunity!
A celesta is a keyboard instrument in which the keys are connected to an action featuring hammers that strike graduated bars that sit above wooden resonators. The celesta usually features a sustain pedal. Invented in 1886 by the Parisian Hamronium builder Auguste Mustel, the celesta made its first significant musical debut in Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcraker.
