Hubert Bedard was a harpsichord and organ restorer and builder based in Quebec. He studied harpsichord and organ in Montreal in the 1950s and from 1963 through 1967, traveled to Boston with Frank Hubbard to study the harpsichord, before moving to Paris to workin the restoration workshop of the Paris Conservatoire's instrument museum He emerged as a key figure in the revival of the harpsichord, first in France but also in Belgium, Holland, England, Switzerland and Italy, from private collectors and museums.  In 1975, Radio-Canada presented a documentary directed by Pierre Peladeau Films entitled "Hubert Bédard, maker of musical instruments."
