The Chordephon is a zither that uses a mechanical action that is played with a disc, like that on a disc music box. These were built in Leipzig, Germany in the late 1800s and early 1900s and have become rare collector's items. It uses a cranked clockwork motor to turn the disc, which plays up to 30 strings. This Chordephone is in playing condition, but the strings need to be tuned.
Antiquity Music can also MIDI-fy it for an additional fee -- see our Regina Disc Music Box MIDI Player product page to view this service.
