Deagan Organ Chimes
This set of J.C. Deagan organ chimes, has a 2.7-octave range, with a low F, a low G, and then C to F chromatically. Also known commonly as Deagan shaker chimes, these vintage chimes comprise the third largest set of approximately 40 remaining in the world. This set is from circa 1910 - 1920, and is probably a custom order from Deagan, as a set of shaker chimes with this exact range was not featured in Deagan's catalog.
These Deagan shaker chimes are tuned "High Pitch" (A=454) under Deagan's pre-1917 system, almost a full half-step higher than A=440, so the missing low C# sounds closest to D in A=440. The chimes are completely in tune with themselves, and can be played alongside other instruments in an ensemble or recording. They have a unique sound that is unlike any other instrument.
